Annette Robyns studied at the New York School of Industrial Art, and with Harry Shoulberg in Manhattan. She continued her studies in Paris apprenticed to abstract art innovator, Fernard Leger. Robyns received her Masters of Fine Arts degree from California State University. Ms. Robyns opened her Larchmont studio in Los Angeles in the 1940’s, establishing herself as a prominent West Coast Artist, Jeweler and Sculptor. With her husband, actor Donald Elson, she founded the Elson-Robyns Gallery, a moving force in the Los Angeles art scene during the memorable '60s. 

ONE WOMAN SHOWS AND EXHIBITIONS INCLUDE: Studio Schrader, Copenhagen; Tillman-Carter Gallery, Los Angeles; The Chabot Gallery, Los Angeles; The Brand Library and Art Center, Los Angeles; The Julie Dohan Gallery, Los Angeles; The Laguna Beach Art Association Gallery, Laguna Beach, California; and The Westwood Art Association, Los Angeles, California. Her art is included in both private and public collections throughout the United States and beyond. Celebrity collectors of Annette Robyns work include: The Ingrid Bergman Estate; The Jerome Robbins Estate (Annette's first cousin); Estelle Parsons; and Mischa Elman.

She is deeply missed by the art community and especially by her loving family and devoted husband. Through the generosity of her husband, Donald Elson, Annette's paintings are being made available to non-profit organizations at no cost, in exchange for assurance that they will be prominently displayed.
